Provision of Water to Project Site
WYCE's first water project was the construction of a borehole to deliver fresh and clean water to our volunteers Lodge. We have since completed our second Water Project which aimed to provide water from the project's borehole to the Health Centre, Primary Classroom, and Early Years Centre. In addition, we have given villagers access to clean drinking water by erecting two standpipes in the village.

Future Plans
We also have some grant application which, if achieved, will mean that a full water system will be developed
throughout Madina Salaam. Furthermore, we are working together with Muslim Aid to provide a fire hydrant which
would enable fire engines from Brikama (30minutes away) to attend fires in Combo South by refilling in Madina Salaam
instead of returning back to Brikama. This would be a particularly useful service especially through the dry season
when 2007 saw 4 major bush fires in that region only. None of which were able to be helped by the fire service due
to shortage of water facilities in that area.
