There are so many areas covered by the project that it is up to you to tell us how best you can contribute to the project. To give you an idea, here are some of the skills and professions we are always on the lookout for:

Students

WYCE Offers the perfect opportunity for students to enjoy the benefits of travel during their studies. Whether you are on a gap year and looking for brand new, exciting experiences or looking for overseas placements to compliment your course, the WYCE lodge is the perfect place to meet likeminded people and immerse yourself in real African culture in a safe and friendly environment.

There are a wide range of ongoing programs that you can choose to get involved with, from farming and agriculture to office administration, healthcare and education. Students of all ages have benefited from experiencing the Gambian approach to work as well as gaining credits towards their degree.

WYCE have already made links with colleges and universities up and down the U.K and have been instrumental in groups and single travelling students working alongside the villagers of Medina Saalam to create the foundations for a brighter, sustainable future for the children of the Gambia.

This involvement with WYCE has been described by many as a priceless journey of self discovery.

You can change a life.............. and it might just be yours!

Teachers

The WYCE school in Medina Saalam offers teachers at all stages of their career the opportunity to witness the differences surrounding the approach to education in West Africa to the U.K and the chance to be a part of the development of the education system being introduced by WYCE in the Gambia.

The WYCE lodge is the perfect place to meet likeminded people and immerse yourself in real African culture in a safe and friendly environment. WYCE has many links with schools around the U.K thanks to programs that have been introduced that are geared towards raising awareness of the difficulties in West Africa and highlighting the differences between the lifestyle of the children in the Gambia to those living in the U.K. This has proved to be an extremely successful venture that has resulted in schools meeting their outcomes at the same time as raising much needed funds for ongoing WYCE projects.
