Every month, we have to raise a minimum of £3,000 just to pay all our Gambian Staff's salaries and the project's running costs! This is why, just to keep going, we are constantly looking for people to sponsor the Project in the same way as people would sponsor a child. We can assure you that EVERY PENNY / DALASI that you donate will be used HONESTLY to improve the education of the children of The Gambia. Just to give you an idea of how far your money can go:
Monthly Standing Order A regular source of income is every Charity's dream! We are therefore asking our supporters to sponsor us by setting up a monthly direct debit. The monthly amount donated is up to you and means that, by knowing how much we will regularly get every month, we can focus our attention on raising the missing chunk to keep the project going. If you would like to receive more information, please contact us.
Monthly Draw This is a very exciting and, potentially, very rewarding way to support WYCE! Entries cost £5 per person and payments need to be sent to us before the last working day of every month. 20% of the total prize money goes to the winners and 80% is sent directly to the project. The prize money is split in the following way: 1st Prize: 50%, 2nd Prize: 30%, and 3rd Prize: 10%. Yes, you've guessed it! This means that the more people we have playing, the bigger the prizes! So, spread the word to all your families and friends and start playing! If you would like to receive more information, please contact us.
Tree & Vegetable Garden WYCE has put two new initiatives into place. The first one is a new vegetable garden that has been created in the school. The seeds that have been planted have been handed over to the children of Madina Salaam. By being taught how to grow and manage vegetables, it will provide them with two benefits: an income for the school coming from the profits generated from their sales; and the knowledge to help at home and provide income/food for the family. Both of these are vital for continued growth of the village. The second new initiative is the development of a number of orchards and tree areas around the school and clinic. These consist of fruit trees including: banana, mango and paw paw; which represent a sustainable form of income and nutrients to the children and school; and medicine trees that are being used by the clinic to ease the symptoms of malaria. There will also be the continued planting of local trees planted to fall in line with the WYCE replenishment system to ensure the protection of the environment. Click here for more information. As you can see, we cannot tell you how much a tree sponsorship will mean to the children and people of Madina Salaam. Your contribution will (quite literally!) grow our project and the improvement it will make to the village and standard of living will be unquantifiable. If you would like to receive more information, please contact us.
Business Sponsorship WYCE now has Business Sponsorship Scheme so if your business is looking for a way to help a Charity, stop looking and contact us. |
