Urgent Appeal For Our Early Learning Centre!

Our most important priority for 2008 is to finish our Early Years Centre. Without it, we will not be able to move the two classrooms currently used in the Health Centre and will not be able to carry our oldest pupils through to the next stage… We therefore need to raise £20,000 to build: two classrooms, a head-teacher’s room, staff room, a resources room and flushable toilets. Building work has to start in March in order to be completed before the rainy season starts.

We therefore need all the help YOU can give us to fundraise amongst your community, family, friends and even work colleagues. Think about it, if you work in a small organisation (approximately 50 people) and get everyone to donate as little as £5 this would bring us £250…

Ben Nevis Walk

Further to last year’s success, we are once more giving you the opportunity to join us on our amazing Ben Nevis sponsored walk!

The event will take place from 18th until 20th July 2008 and will include: Return coach transportation, 2 nights accommodation at the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William on a full board basis (please note that packed, and professional mountain guides to take you safely up and down the UK’s highest peak!

All we are asking for is for you to commit to raise a minimum of £400. Have we convinced you yet? WYCE Merchandise

We now have a collection of calendars, t-shirts and caps available for sale.

It is still early in the year and our WYCE calendars would make a wonderful present! Calendars cost £3 (inc p&p) and contain a superb collection of pictures taking you through WYCE's progress in Madina Salaam.

Furthermore, for volunteers or anyone else interested in promoting our charity, we have a t-shirts and caps available.

T-shirts only cost £5 (inc p&p) and caps £3 (inc p&p) and will represent another vital source of income for our charity.

Summer Challenge

We are looking for a group of 20 energetic and enthusiastic people to volunteer for our project in Madina Salaam for either 1 week (25/07/08 – 01/08/08) or 2 weeks (25/07/08 – 08/08/08).

All that we are asking you to do is to raise a minimum of £1,000 for 1 week stays or stays which will cover: your flights, your return transfers in The Gambia, your accommodation on a full board basis, and organised excursions and entertainments whilst on-site. By taking part, you will ensure that approximately £400 goes directly to the project and, as you will be on-site, you can see exactly how the money will be used!
