Reconditioned Items Donated Over the years, a number of part containers were received at the ports through Customs and Excise with the help of duty waiver concession granted to N.G.O.'s and other charitable organisations. Most of the items, which arrived in the containers, were school materials, second-hand clothing, medical equipment, and construction materials.
Second-Hand Clothing The second-hand clothing was distributed among the beneficiaries through the V.D.C. The bulk of the items suitable for the Primary Health Care Centre were suitably donated and each department most gratefully received all materials and equipment received by the Early Years Centre and Primary Class.
Construction Items The construction items were partially used and others stored for major construction works in the near future. WYCE Administration wishes to express sincere thanks to all the donors of these invaluable items. They helped a great deal to reduce the implementation cost of the Project. Although the materials were not new, they were still of better quality than those available locally and for some special items, their likes could never be found in this country.
Educational and Health Resources and Materials A large amount of donated items also arrived at the Project site through the assistance of both our Volunteers, who were all happy to carry them, and the co-operating Airlines who are assisting us in the carriage of extra items in their 'extra baggage allowance' quota. This system has been a massive help to our Project and WYCE would like to thank both Volunteers and Airlines for their assistance with this. |
