WYCE is creating employment opportunities both for the skilled and unskilled workers of Madina Salaam. We are currently providing employment
opportunities for approximately 41 Gambians, most of whom are indigenous of Madina Salaam.
By employing village skill workers, we have developed the following project
infrastructures:
The School, where we employ 6 Qualified Teachers, 5 Classroom Assistants and 5
Classroom Helpers
The Primary Health Care Clinic where we employ a Health Coordinator, an Assistant
and an Ambulance driver
A Bee Farm used both as a training school for the people of Madina Salaam and as
an income-generating activity for the Project;
A Working Lodge, built to welcome our volunteers, and thereby employing a fourth
of the total amount of staff
Various fruit and vegetable gardens which are not only generating income for the
project but also creating another source of employment.
The WYCE project in Madina Salaam has an extensive planned programme.
